Anxiety and Depression

Not just buzz words from social media, but an almost daily reality that interrupts your ability to function the way you want to.

Anxiety and depression steal us away from the present moment. Whether you are unwillingly preoccupied with the unknowable future or replaying your dissatisfaction with the past, your daily moments are filled with stress and robbed of peace.

Anxiety and depression can take over how you think, feel, and move through daily life.

You may find yourself constantly on edge, overthinking, emotionally exhausted, or feeling numb and unmotivated. Even when things look “fine” on the outside, it can feel hard to keep up or enjoy life the way you used to. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and develop new ways of responding to stress, emotions, and relationships.

Depression and anxiety can be symptoms of trauma and may benefit from trauma therapy.

Whether or not you have a history of trauma, I use a body-brain connected approach that is trauma-informed and client-centered. With abounding compassion, we will recognize together how anxiety and depression are understandable responses to life experiences, not personal failures. Sessions will focus on increasing emotional awareness, building coping skills, and gently addressing underlying patterns that keep you feeling stuck. Therapy is collaborative and paced with care, honoring your goals and readiness for change.

Depending on your needs, therapy may include:

  • Emotion regulation and nervous system support

  • Identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns

  • Exploring the impact of past experiences

  • Strengthening self-compassion and resilience

  • EMDR therapy when symptoms are connected to trauma

Over time, many clients notice greater emotional stability, improved relationships, clearer boundaries, and an increased sense of confidence and self-trust.
