Child and Adolescent Therapy

Support for children, teens, and their caregivers

Children and adolescents often communicate distress through behavior, emotions, or changes in functioning rather than words. Therapy provides developmentally appropriate support that helps young people build emotional skills while also supporting caregivers along the way.

Our work focuses on helping children and teens feel understood, safe, and empowered to navigate challenges both now and in the future.

Common concerns addressed

  • Anxiety, worry, or school stress

  • Emotional outbursts or withdrawal

  • Trauma or significant life changes

  • Social difficulties or low self-esteem

  • Behavioral concerns or family conflict

How therapy works for young people

Therapy is tailored to the child or teen’s developmental stage. Sessions may include play-based interventions, creative expression, skill-building, and talk therapy. For adolescents, therapy often emphasizes identity development, emotional regulation, communication skills, and healthy coping strategies.

Caregiver involvement is an important part of the process. Parents will receive guidance, education, and support to reinforce progress outside of sessions.

Goals of child & adolescent therapy

  • Improved emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Increased confidence and self-awareness
